I have a new (second-hand) range cooker - can anyone recommend something to clean it?

i'd use cif stainless steel cleaner if really bad but I just wipe mine everyday with a damp ecloth and it comes up lovely.

Inside - lakeland Oven Mate - totally brilliant, very easy, no smells.

baby oil is the best thing, cleans and shines

wanderingstar · 14/01/2007 10:00

cif is good; a little goes a long way. You do need to rinse well and then buff with a dry cloth.

Use any non-abrasive kitchen cleaner and finishing by wiping with a damp e-cloth is best I find.

Thanks all - so, cif SS cleaner and an ecloth gets the vote - although might try baby oil just for the fun of it! Would never have thought of that! Where can I buy an ecloth from - Tesco??

I use the green e-cloth with wshing up liquid or flash and then dry with blue e-cloth
Occassionally use worktop wonder from lakeland ,it's great for stainless steel aswell.

redshoes · 16/01/2007 19:35

Thanks - from whence can I purchase said cloth?

I use Cif SS cleaner or Dettol 5-in-1 then finish off with Windowlene!!
Honestly it's the only thinkg I've found that gives it a smear-free shine. Baby oil tended to make the SS dull, but the windowlene is fantastic! Wipe it off with a microfibre cloth and voila! Was thinking of starting a thread to spread the news since I've made this amazing discovery!! - but you've saved me the trouble!

100PerCentCod · 16/01/2007 19:46

LIZS · 16/01/2007 19:50

ecloth from most supermarkets. also Peek's polish (from Robert Dyas iirc amongst others)is worth a try occasionally, use sparingly though

redshoes · 16/01/2007 20:56

smoggie at the windowlene excitement! Thank you all.
