Buggy Boards are they any good?

My eldest DD is two in March and my youngest DD is 4 months. I have managed to collect three different pushchairs along the way. I have a Mama's and Papa's twin Aria which is falling apart . I really miss my Maclaren Techno and Urban Detour 3 wheeler . Does anyone have experience of using a buggy board with these two pushchairs? Are they useful or just a pain and get in the way? Any advice would be great as DD1 is averse to walking very far!

Hi, I have old style Buggy Board on a Mamas and Papas pliko. I love it, I have a 3 yr old who is also not keen walker. You do have to walk slightly further back from Pushchair but I find this small price to pay for happy child. My wee boy enjoys getting a ride in it, though I encourage him to walk as much as possible. In this weather he likes it as he feels cosy being close to me. The new 3g buggy board seems to fit both your pushchairs (not sure about old syle board would prob need kiddyboard too.)
You can check fits on the Lascal website. I can't do links but if comes up if you goggle it or Buggy Board.
I was lucky got mine 2nd hand, though did have to get 2nd hand pliko as My freestyler was poor fit for all boards.
If my son had been great walker I prob wouldn't have bothered but have found mine invaluable.
Do yyou know anyone who let you try one out for a day?
My DD is also 4 months
Anyway hope this helps a little.

I struggled with mine-first of all I found it almost impossible to put together-I am really good with instructions but these were something else.
The second problem I had (mine was on a techno) was that ds used to squat down and bring the front of the buggy off the ground with his weight! bloody annoying.
I stopped using it after a couple of weeks and made ds walk!

My dd has only just started wanting to use ours (she's now 3.5 although had it since she was 2). I found it helpful now and again but she was playing at independant toddler - would say it depends on your child.

DS was 19months when DD born at first used tandem buggy which was great, then moved onto buggy board which was fantastic he was more than happy to stand on board which for me was great.
I would recommend trying one before buying because some friends kids just did'nt like to stand on it bit of a waste of money if your lo does'nt want to use it. I still have the one i used.

Not sure if board will fit onto the buggies you described try taking them into pram shop and ask attendant to try one on the pram and see if it fits ok. My board was ok but was unable to put brake on pram until you unattached board from bracket (which was easy enough) although didn't put into practice because thankfully he wasn't in a habit of running off so didn't need to put brake on in a hurry!

ok... have used a buggy board with a mountain buggy.... loved it.. couldnt care less if it was on or not! no problem. buggy was easy to push no matter what

and a mamas a papas "typical mamas and paps style pushchair" and i HATE it... i mean really hate it... in fact i refuse to use it and make 3 year old walk instead!

TBH i dont like the mamas and papas buggy much either... will always opt for the phil and teds or maclaren over the mamas and papas!

We had a sidewinder board, which sits to the side of where youstand to push. It didn't get in the way at all, and although I thought it would be difficult to steer withthe extra weight on one side, it wasn't.I would recommend it.

This link shows you how the Lascal 3G Buggyboard fits to which pushchairs, and if they don't! I use one with my Urban Detour 3 wheeler (that I bought about a year ago so not the most recent type) thought I couldn't do it and found with a slight modification to the hood of the puschair I could! Works like a dream for my 3 year old to get to places when we have to get there fast or he's too tired to walk. He loves it. Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice - I think I will try one - got to be cheaper than a new double buggy! Just have to persuade DD1 to use it - wish me luck!!
