Why do toy mfctrs think babies spend their whole life in a cot?

I've been browsing the shops for toys my Ds (8 wks) and at least half are designed to fit on the side of the cot (mobiles/light shows/kicking piano things/activity centres etc.). What's that all about?

Am I the only one whos Ds only uses his cot only for sleep? I have a lullaby/white noise player in there for him - and that's it.

Now an in-sling entertainment system would more reflect how he spends his day! A hat mounted mobile, there;s an idea....

hmm no mine spends quite a bit in there, mainly when i cant get him to shut up crying or i want to get some sleep for myself! or if im doing stuff upstairs. hes quite happy lying there. i suspect once he learn to crawl it will be a different story though!

It's been hard enough getting my babies to use the cot for sleeping, let alone playing in there without screaming! The cot toys remain ignored on the sides.

most baby stuff is sold to people who don't know any better!

Later they do have toys in there for the morning wake up though m,ine all wanted out once awake

nappyaddict - master Kif now enjoys the flashest swing in the shop. Mummy had a word with santa,

Perfect for those "look, I really need to use the toilet now, please" moments. Literally all singing all dancing.
