You can in a Zafira - 3 in the middle, M&P primo viaggo, britax stage one in the middle and a britax super crusier at the other side

We have a Grand Scenic. 2 seats in front , 3 across the middle and 2 in the boot. I have a maxi cosi xp,maxi cosi rodi and a recarro something across the middle. I just move the recarro out of the way to strap my eldest in to the middle.

Ford Focus C-Max. Three Britax seats of varying stages have all fitted in mine just fine.

Ours is OK for economy. I drive a 1.6 LX and it seems fine. I previously had a 1.8 LX but that was thirsty although better on motorway journeys. We get everything in in the boot but it does have a high lip on it which I find annoying as you have to lift pushchairs over carefully, so I have a light weight buggy for the boot now (actually have many ). We have stuck with Ford as they are very cheap to service (our dealer is really cheap) - we did have 2 C-max until about 2 weeks ago when we realised that dh didn't actually need his for journeys to the station every day and so have swapped his (the 1.8) for a KA. Neither cars are very exciting but they do what they say on the tin and that is quite important to me with 3 kids to ferry about. hth

Not really a gas guzzler. Getting a 7 seater was a genuis idea as it gives a great sized boot. Originally it was because we hoped to have 4 children but we have just the three and the extra space is great. Would be easier if it had sliding doors but one can't have everything!

Thanks guys. We're looking at so many different cars, it's a minefield..does anyone have any experience of the new ford s-max? more than we wanted to spend but seems to win loads of awards.. hubby is keen...
or any other suggestions? I am keen on the boot size too- does the cmax have quite a little one then?

No, the boot is a good size but compared to the scenic I used to drive, it seems squarer although is deeper IYSWIM. We have got all our luggage for five people in for a weekend away, including a travel cot and a Zapp buggy quite easily. I think the width is compromised because there are some panels at the side which have cubby holes in, but I've never found it a real problem. hth

thanks bagpuss. so the only differenced between the cmax and the smax is that one has 5 seats and one has 7? i'm assuming that you can only buy the cmax new as well then if it's only just come out?
cheers x
