Aluminium drinking bottles

I've bought my ds1+2 drinking bottles made from aluminium which we use for fruit juice and squash in their lunch packs. However I've just remembered sometime in the 80's we were advised not to use aluminium cooking pots as the aluminium could leach into the food and it had been implicated in the development of Alzheimer disease. The inside of the bottles don't appear to be coated with an enamel or sealant. I've stopped using them until I can find out whether they are safe or not. I've contacted the manufacteurer and will post the reply once I get it. In the meantime does anyone have any knowledge or information about this aspect of aluminium drinking bottles?

I read somewhere (can't remember where, sorry) that they were healthier to use than plastic as plastic can seep into the drink.

I think I am coming to the conclusion that nothing is safe these days...

Please post your reply from the manufacturer once you get it - would be very interested!
