I need a travel cot for going abroad!

Most of the ones on tha market are really heavy - 10kg.
I was planning on getting the Samsonite pop up bubble cot, but have been told they are too lightweight, and kids knock them over! DS is 6 months and starting to crawl, so not sure what is the best option! Any ideas? thanks

I have the samsonite pop up cot that goes up to 18 months, and a friend's 15 month old has slept in it no problem -
hope that helps!

I also have the Samsonite that goes up to 18 months, and for travel where you have to fly, so weight is an issue I think it is fab. Last time I used it my daughter was 11 months old and she slept absolutely fine in it. Not too sure I would use it once the child can walk though, even if they do say up to 18 months - however, crawling is no problem, and your 6 month old is a way off walking yet!

You could always go for the Nomad one - similar to the Samsonite but supposed to last until they are a few years old, and slightly lighter than the samsonite too. It also comes with tent style pegs to peg it to the ground if used outdoors.

We got the little life twin arc cot.

Its very light less than 3 kg I think. DH finds it a fiddle to put up, it took about 20 mins the first time but less once you get used to it. I thought the mattress was very light but DS slept like a dream in it the time we used it. It gets good reviews.

I used the Samsonite pop up bubble cot when ds was 6 months and it was fine even though he started crawling on that holiday. You have to put it on a firm base though. Preferably the floor.

I meant to add that it really does pop up and is very easy and light to carry. Folds up into a bag the size of a round tea tray.

we used the samsonite one for dd and she last used it aged around 12months old. We tend to put it up inside a cot..(hygeine pov and safety iykwim).

Have also used it on the floor without any problem. TBH prob wouldn't recommend it for an 18 month old (dd's age now) as she is to mobile and to strong for us to ensure she would still be where we left her come the morning..!!
