IF I get a new car, which one should I go for?

I am 2 years into a 5 year HP finance plan and have started to think my car is not big enough. I have looked into changing cars and extending the finance plan or increasing monthly payments, I have an appointment on Monday at a dealership to discuss this and obtain a settlement figure. I know it will not be the best option financially but I'm not sure how bad it could be? The value of the car when I bought it was £7500 and I pay £160/month. I don't remember the interest rate exactly Blush

The main reasons for changing cars;

  1. boot space is not big enough in my Corsa for my work equipment and the buggy, or for buggy and shopping, or any luggage so I am forever moving stuff around from boot to back seats
  2. we plan to have more DC in next few years (currently have one 11mo) so extra car seat space would be good

I want my most sensible head on before I go to look at cars and the numbers so that I avoid getting too excited about a new car. Am I being silly to want a new car? How bad will the financial loss be? The model of my car is Vauxhall Corsa SE 5 door 13 plate, around 31k on the clock. Do I need some sense talking into me?

Dh had been in cruise control disengaged it as we were joining another road, applied brakes to slow down as slow moving traffic and car carried on at the same speed. Brakes did not work for about a minute. We reached the very end of the filter before brakes started working again.
The brake is also supposed to disengage cruise control but it didnt. It was very scary and do not feel safe in the car. The next day the radio had a life of its own with the sound going up when dh was turning it down, and then continued to get louder when he had taken his finger off. A bit later it started getting louder by itself.

I have the Kia Sportage and do really like it! Not too big but comfortable to get suitcases in and travel in it - 4 adults to Paris at new year and we were all happy in it!

The warranty is great, 7 years - we had a problem with the battery not long after we got it, took it back to the dealer and they sorted it no questions asked.

It's drive well, not too bad on fuel, average 51mpg, looks nice on the road and you get a fair amount of kit on the inside for a reasonable price.

bruffin sounds like you had a CC that wouldn't disengage, this would not affect the brakes at all, however the engine would keep trying to drive the car forward whilst the brakes were being applied, reducing their effectiveness somewhat. I hate to ask a stupid question but why did your DH drive like this for a minute rather than just dip the clutch?
