try opening back up on unites to reset?..or amybe(as happend with us in new house) someone in house close by is causing interference?

LIZS · 03/01/2007 15:30

Could a neighbour have a similar one and it is picking up their signal or lack of rather than yours.

Biglips · 03/01/2007 15:36

my neighbours got no kids as its a guy lives on his own but he had got a computer in his living room but the interference is all around the house as ive tried plugging it into the kitchen/back room and upstairs but no difference

Biglips - we have one of those, and it does the same thing, though sometimes worse than others. I have no idea why, sometimes it's interference because the units are too far apart, and sometimes it seems as if other electrical equipment is interfering, but sometimes it just buzzes. Used to do my head in when I used it overnight when ds first went into a room of his own. We tried buying another one (a philips one IIRC) but it was even worse. Due another baby in a couple of weeks, and suspect we're going to end up forking out for another monitor as the buzzing will drive me demented. But the weird thing is that most people who have them don't have any problem with them at all - you're the first person I've come across to have the same complaint!

LIZS · 03/01/2007 15:44

could be from across the street !

2HappyNewYear · 03/01/2007 15:49

It's definitely not that in our case - there are only 7 other houses where we live, only one with kids, not young enough to need monitors. Plus the buzzing comes with us when we take the monitor elsewhere eg my parents, who don't have neighbours.

Biglips · 03/01/2007 16:05

we've got no houses across the road as its the main road plus a flyover too

We had exactly that problem. The monitor worked fine for a couple of years and then did the buzzing thing - it got so bad that it would keep me awake at night! It buzzed less if we unplugged it and used batteries, but it was a bit of a pain and got quite expensive to use it that way. Eventually we got a BT digital one and it has been brilliant - absolutely no interference, buzzing or anything - I would strongly recommend it. I know a few people that have had the same problem, but none of them have been able to fix it - sorry.

BT Monitor

i had two that did this after a while, chucked them and just kept the doors open instead.

Biglips · 03/01/2007 22:37
