baby rucksacks...quick!
Heathcliffscathy · 24/05/2004 19:45
i know there have been other threads...but dh is getting narked that i haven't sorted this (he's not really a git, honest) as our kelty kangaroo with a hefty six month old in it is doing his back in and so: bushbaby? baby trekker? we need a really good one that we can do proper over hill and dale walking in...i'm 5'4" he is 6'2" and we both need to be comfortable in it. would rather spend money on something that lasts and is really comfy, but obviously don't want to waste money unnecessarily...can someone just tell me which one to buy and where to buy it??? quick! thank you thank you thank you
binkie · 24/05/2004 20:07
Why not a bigger Kelty? Our bossy source (camping shop) said far and away best in market (though I realise it would say that, wouldn't it).
Have found link to complete range - here - but don't recognise one we had - probably kind of middle of the range.
Heathcliffscathy · 24/05/2004 20:09
hmmm... but needs to fit both of us and backpack is women sized...hopefully dh will do most of the carrying
come on people, just shut me up with a solid recommendation...please
binkie · 24/05/2004 20:12
really? are all the Keltys meant to be women-sized? I hardly ever wore ours, it was always dh's job & he was very happy with it - but then again he's only 5 10 on a good day
Tissy · 24/05/2004 20:16
We have a Littlelife- fits me, 5'2" and dh 5'6"- would probably fit a taller bloke though- 6'2" isn't abnormally tall!
Ours is very comfortable, capacious and hardwearing- would recommend it!
Heathcliffscathy · 24/05/2004 21:08
anymore ladies...anyone got a bushbaby or a little trekker?
JJ · 24/05/2004 21:10
I think we have a bushbaby. I'll send it to you, if you'd like. It's nice but my son has outgrown it. Not sure how it is on a tall guy, but it's supposed to be good... of course, they all are, aren't they?
Heathcliffscathy · 24/05/2004 22:25

very least for postage but more, where are you btw??

ok, am doing a daytime bump on this, any recommendations ladies...jj did you get my email?
Marina · 25/05/2004 10:06
Hope JJ comes up with the goods Sophable, we are still using our Bushbaby as dd is 9 months. It suits fat 5'3" mother and thinnish 6' father very well and can even be adjusted mid-trudge when divorce looms. It's very comfy - and holds lots besides the baby.
JuA · 25/05/2004 10:07
We have a bushbaby - only used it once (just to try it out)as dd is only 5.5 months old and still fits in the sling. dh (6'2" ) said it was very comfortable. We got it off ebay for about half price - used but in good condition.
Heathcliffscathy · 25/05/2004 10:08
lol marina re divorce looming, i so know that feeling when hot and bothered on a walk sometimes
gingerbear · 25/05/2004 10:48
We have a bushbaby Light, and it is v comfy for all three of us (DH, DD and me) lots of space for toys, maps, snacks, drinks etc.

I love using my sutemi baby carrier , but if you especiallly want something with rucksack type straps there seem to be lots of peeps on another forum (not sure iif I'm allowed to name it?) where they're all very excited about ergos. THey can carry up to 60pounds but i'm not sure who in their right mind would want to carry a 60pound child!!lol
