Has anyone used ice lolly molds? Are any brands better than others? Did your kids like the ice lollies??? Thanks!

Got ours from Ikea - DD loves them as she can almost do it all herself and feels a sense of acheivement - they are often better than the shop bought ones too as you can use pure juice and no yucky additives!!

Lickety splits are great. They also come with a built in straw to drink all juice when it melts.
Lottie is 2 and I made her iced lollies out of prune juice! she LOVED it, at it all and sat there doing a wiggle saying 'mmmmmm' all the way through.

The ones with a sippy bit in the handle to slurp the drips up are good (less sticky dribbles over hands then).

Lickety Sips!!! (finding those took aaaaages!

we've got some Rabbit lolly moulds complete with slurpy bits. We fill them with whatever fruit juice we have around or, as a treat, strawberry milkshake. DD enjoys them.

Oh year lickety SIPS, that's what I meant!
they're great.

DH makes gorgeous lollies in the blender with ice-cream, milk, strawberries, bananas, any fruit really. Much healthier than the shop brought ones and the girls love them.

You ladies are wonderful - thankyou so much! Mumsnet is so great. I'm really looking forward to having a go!

Get good juices! We do ours with a whole variety like pineapple, mango, guava, pear, apricot. The more ethnic corner stores do brands of fruit juices that are 100% juice of whatever fruit they are supposed to be (ie no apple or grape juice added) and super cheap.

Just one caveat with Lickety Sips, vivie - if you have an upright standard UK freezer with drawers, you may find the little b*ggers are about 1cm too tall to stand upright in any of the drawers. That marked the end of our homemade lolly crusade.

I've got a frozen lolly maker from Lakeland - similar to these here

They work really well filled with all sorts of juices/yoghurts/purees/cordials. Ds's favourites are homemade elderflower cordial and traffic light lollies. It seems expensive to buy them but I've saved loads of money not buying supermarket ones filled with who-knows-what & it's great to be able to make loads at a go for when his friends come round.
