We are looking a buying a new bed and wondered if anyone can recommend (or condemn) IKEA's Malm beds as that is our favourite.
TIA

Jaysus I'm losing the will to live...
We have spent the whole day on the Ikea website redesigning our bedroom and dressing room which atm are really quite useless.
no doub this will culminate in trip to the dreaded consumer hell that is post xmas ikea.
oh the stress...

Do it with pen and paper, far less hassle.

QuootiepieTheNewYearsAss · 29/12/2006 17:02

and cut out little to scale beds, wardrobes etc. and just shift them about the piece of paper.

Piffle · 29/12/2006 17:02

oh QP we've done that already...

we've got a malm bed which is fine. biggest one they do (180cm wide? maybe 200?). neither dp or i are lightweights.... dd co-sleeps with us too, & ds comes in in the mornings. it's cheap too.

southeastastra · 29/12/2006 17:15

we've got malm drawers and they really stink still six months later!

Skribble · 29/12/2006 17:31

QuootiepieTheNewYearsAss · 29/12/2006 17:36

we have 2 hemnes beds piffle. really like them. we have ours in dark wood and the spare room one is white.

Well... a marathon day at ikea yesterday culminating in a huge refit of bedroom and dressing room
Due to be delivered in 2 wks...
WE ordered the Malm bed after testing it at the shop, deciding we could live with the ankles (glow in the dark dots on the bed ends lol)
got the pull out headboard.
am still sceptical but dp assures me it will look fab
Will obviously be here to bitch if it ain't..

Did you get Malm furniture too piff, or just the bed? DS2 has 2 chests of drawers (a 2+4 and a 2) and they are really smart! (and the drawers themselves are huuuuuge - very deep and they go all the way to the back of the chest, unlike most)

Piffle · 31/12/2006 20:09

we chose the pax stuff as dp loves all the little storage ideas
men I ask you...
