response from mams and papas to my asking for a refund for pushair which hafd fallen apart after two months, after quoted relevant trading standards legislation at her!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mrs dasherdancervixen

Thank you for your e-mail.

I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties with one of our products and appreciate how disappointing this must be.

Mamas and Papas are more than happy to undertake a repair on this item however we would not be able to transport this pushchair from (place in the far east, 13 hours on a plane, 1500 pounds for me and 2 kids...) , we are more than happy to collect this item from a UK address and repair.

Would you be able to return this to the UK to allow this to be carried out?

Kind regards

Kath Coton

Did you actually buy it direct from them ?

lulumama · 22/12/2006 20:13

they are obliged to replace if not fit for purpose surely?!?!?

MordecaiAliVanAllenOShea · 22/12/2006 20:14

If you bought it in the UK then I don't think it unreasonable of them to expect to repair it from an address in the UK.

If you bought it from a shop in the far east, then why don't you return it to the shop where you bought it?

dasherdancerandvixen · 22/12/2006 20:20

it was purchasd in the uk...i thought if something broke so quickly i was entitled to a refund! It was not cheap!

Yes I think you can "reject" it but you have to physically get it back to them - Trading Standards may be able to advise - or perhaps M and P have an agent where you are who could help with repair ?
