How can I tart up home made hampers?

I have made up little hampers with bottles of posh cooking oils and herbs and chocolate sauces etc. I have put them in circular wicker type baskets.

How can I pad around the items to keep them well positioned and nice looking - any kind of posh bubble wrap??

And how can I wrap them - or should I just put a big bow on the handles?

YOu can buy this kind of shredded tissue paper , though I'm not sure where from - try card shops?

I have a shredder in the house - I could just get tissue paper and shred it myself couldn't I? Good idea!

A good way to make them look professional is to get some of that clear cellophane wrap that jewellers use to cover the hamper, scrunch it at the top and tie with red/tartan ribbon.

I have never got a good supplier for this, but i would be tempted to go to a Florists and see if they will sell you some.

Clear cellophane wrap is available in Hobbycraft in colourless and a wide range of colours too. I bought a roll there this week, for my hampers!

I use newspaper shredded and then put a piece of foil over the top (can be recycled). Then I wrap stuff in cellophane and ribbon and put a piece of cellophane over the top (probably cancels out the recycling stuff above).

Another thing would be to wrap whole basket in cellophane and tie a ribbon round the top.

When I say I I actually mean dp. There has to be a bonus with him previously working for Victoria Wine (and wrapping bottles in cellophane). Also his anal streak comes in handy here. Well if I make and shop for the contents then he has to play his part

I've been told hobbycraft is good for cellophane too (its quite a way from me and local shop had it instead).

Oh no - no Hobbycrafts in Scotland!

I got mine from local sewing shop. Also arts and crafts shops and flower shops usually have some.
