Not sure about the mattresses but my chiropracter recommends the pillows.

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 09:16

yeah. they seem to have many a credible looking reccomendation... from chiropractors and the like. but i dont think i know a single person who actually has one

We have just had a new bed selivered. Not a tempur, but a coolmax lookylikey. They come with different thicknesses of memory foam, so they can be firmer or squishy, depending on how hard a bed you like.
It feels weird at first, sinking into a bed instead of bouncing on springs. But we like it so far.

sandyballs · 19/12/2006 11:39

My mum has a tempur mattress and pillow and she loves it. On the few occasions I've managed to sneak off for forty winks at her house I've also liked it.

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 11:40

goodness! the fish!

yes. took a disproving dp to the world of water place and he kind of took the wind out of my sails a bit... but have resolved to get a biOrb, a little one, with one goldfish. dont think it gets much easier to maintain than that, does it??

will have to keep a check with you on how the bed goes!

The thing that has had me wondering wether we should get one or not is that someone who has a pillow said she droped a glass of water on it and it became very very smelly. She washed it and was even worse, so at the end she binned it

As the mattress are far more expensive and difficult to bin... I'm still thinking about it. (Or at least trying to find somebody to tell me that water won't damage them that badly).

Gingerbear · 19/12/2006 11:45

Good choice, put lots of elodea (water plant) in for fishie to nibble on. Hope you will be very happy together (Now go try out some squishy mattresses)
We had lots of fun leaving body imprints in John Peters - like a CSI investigation or the shroud of Turin.

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 11:45

oooh, thats interesting chandra. yes, will be looking for guarantees in that direction, if i go looking at them...

imagine spending all that dosh and having it ruined by a glass of water??

Gingerbear · 19/12/2006 11:47

We have bought pillow protectors and a mattress protector for ours. They are a bit pongy, but the smell goes eventually (or so I am told)

Gingerbear · 19/12/2006 11:48

And the mattress protector has a 10 year guarantee - if the mattress gets ruined they will replace it.

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 11:50

elodea. right. thanks

want to drag dp to the showroom for this place back in action

am so into

The Mobiliser - oh i want that!
Tempur mattresses (or sim)
MBT shoes
kneeling chairs
tripp trapp chairs for the boys

reckon i could get a serious discount on that much stuff from one place, no??

OP posts:
NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 11:51

oh mattress protector guarantee sounds great.

OP posts:
hoxtonchick · 19/12/2006 11:58

oooh, i think that shop's just round the corner from my office ng (more spooky music emoticon required).

my sil got a tempur mattress & sent it back after the 30 day trial....

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 12:01

ok hoxton. do you think we should just stop trying to resist fate and elope and be done with it ??

she sent it back huh? any specific feedback there? was it crap, or just not worth the (substantial) outlay?

OP posts:
weston · 19/12/2006 12:01

i would def. recommend it! i love my tempur, i was getting lots of lower back pain after being in bed for the nite so went to physio for a few sessions and it did no good so we bought a tempur and hey presto no more pain!

they do take a while to get used to and my husband didn't like it as much as me at first

you can order them online via 'back in action' and if u have a recognised back conidtion u don't have to pay the VAT which makes it much more reasonable

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 12:05

oh, my Da's back btw. he says to give you his number, though he may not be able to do it himself... will email you

OP posts:
hoxtonchick · 19/12/2006 12:05

AND i've done my back in . yes, i definitely hear wedding bells.

i think she sent it back as it was too expensive & she's a tightfisted old cow.....

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 12:06

worth going to get a 'recognised back condition' certificate or soemthing, then.

OP posts:
weston · 19/12/2006 12:08

yes don't think we even had to get anything in writing just said that hubbie had a prolapsed disc (which he did have to be fair!)
it is soo fab
the pillows do take abit of getting used to but u just gently sink into it
am now 7 months pregnant and was worried won't be able to get out of it but so far so good!!

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 19/12/2006 12:10

see, weston. thats the kind of thing i wanted to hear!
