Kooshies beach shoes - are they worth buying?

Didn't have these for DS1 (now 4) but am thinking that they would be useful for our hols in France in a month's time, as last year the edge of the pool was really slippy, and also the beach was stoney (and sand was hot!).

But would I use them again at all afterwards? They will likely have grown out of them by next year.

Alternatively, anyone got any boys size 11 and toddler boys size 6 you want rid of??

We are definitely getting DD some this year for holidays - going to some water parks and feel it'd be safer than bare feet. Going to get them to use now early though to get wear out of them - paddling pool, in garden, etc. Doubt they'd still fit in a year's time.

Boots do their own version in pink and blue for £9

We had some that were quite good once they were on, but they were impossible for the children to get on and off themselves, and nigh on impossible for us to do it for them, especially with wet feet. They're quite expensive for one summer holiday's worth, as you say, and a bit of a pain really. We've sent our to the charity shop, sorry!

Next also do their own which are cheaper than Kooshies, they are also a more child-friendly shape.

As DD managed to get hookworm on the beach in mallorca I'll be buying them.

Hi, got some of these for ds when he was 2/3 years old - he has quite wide feet though and they were a bit narrow. Agree with tamum - difficult to get on and off!

I thought they were great as ds lived in them all summer, would wear them all day (best thing for shrimping). However last year we bought some dinghy-type shoes from the local beach shop for £5 & they were just as effective.

Have had several pairs over past 5 years. One pair (blue) faded noticeably others ok. ds wore them in garden the first summer he was walking as he didn't like to be barefoot on grass and they were flexible and light. He had wider feet and so were a bit of a problem to get on/off especially if wet but dd is narrower and they're much easier.

We got some from Primark last year for a couple of quid for ds (then 4). Glad I spent so little on them, since he refused to wear them after a couple of tries. I think he didn't like the wet feeling round his feet, and also sand/little stones get into them.

Wouldn't bother again, would just get jellies or cheap foam sandals.
