how often do you complain about your home shopping delivery?

3rd time asda have delivered, 1st time great, 2nd time complained, 3rd time not sure if its a bit petty over one item and i dont want to look like i am going to do it every time.

so do you complain every time something is wrong or just accept that is going to happen and its the price you pay for not having to drag a toddler round a supermarket?

Hell no. If it's wrong, I complain. You are paying for them to deliver (even when, in the case of Sains Tue-Thur you aren't), generally the service is ropey and you absolutely should complain.

Btw, my latest Asda story (not home delivery)

Went in to buy stuff, including creme fraiche. As they sell it, I bought organic creme fraiche.

Got home. Realised it was at least two weeks out of date. And that I was going to have to back with my toddler [groan]

Went back. They were super-apologetic and basically said the bloke on that section was rubbish and going to get the sack, have a 5 quid gift card.

Went to buy some more creme fraiche and really struggled to find some that wasn't out of date, in fact the one I had picked up before was one of the newer ones! Found one, got some other bits, went to the till (with aforementioned toddler going ape), only to find I only had 2 quid on the card, not 5.

So, paid. Then went back to customer services to question whether I should have 2 or 5 quid on the card. Turns out five (but how many people could be bothered to question, esp with children going ape). I did mention that virtually all of the creme fraiche was wickedly out of date, and the next time I went in, it was virtually all gone.

I am nearly always sending stuff back to tesco because they have sent wrong item or have subsituted something. I always try to make sure that I have ticked the Do not subsitute box when I order, but I guess that's the price you pay for not dragging LO's around supermarkets.

I always complain if something is wrong - though in 2 years of Ocado ordering I've only had to complain 3 times (all 3 times for a squished pot of cream that had leaked everywhere). However with Ocado it is dead easy in that if anything is wrong you can just refund yourself from the website, no questions asked. I rang up customer services though as I wanted them to know why I was getting my money back, so they could fix the problem.

If it's wrong, I complain.

I usually use Tesco, have had to complain twice, once I was short of an organic roast chicken at about £8 so wasn;t going to let that go.

Last week i got no clementines and I rang Customer Services and asked for a credit of £3.16 - the credit I got was £3.60 so she must have misheard - just shows you they don;t have that much info!

But I use them about once every 10 days and generally no problems at all, they are quick to credit when something goes wrong, no questions asked.

Have also used waitrose a couple of times, again, no problems.

Sounds like you have eitehr been unlucky, or Asda are crap

thank you, have complained but i think the lady on the phone may have been having a christmas drinky (either that or she was just odd) so have emailed aswell as i am none the wiser about the question i wanted answered. dont know why i feel like they are doing me a favour by bringing me the shopping, its not like they are doing it out of kindness!

Tesco customer servies have always been very good when I have phoed. They are in Scotland

The only one I had real problems with was Sainsburys - so I just never use them now...

lunavix · 13/12/2006 20:35

I complain about tescos practically every week I use them. Something is always either out of date, squashed, or wrong.

I've compained about sainsburys a few times - although proportionately I've only used them a few times. They are a bit more random ' what compensation would you like, £5?'

I've never had to complain about Ocado.

I am currently boycotting Tesco as I am pissed off with them over the way they handled my last complaint.

I ordered online waited up half the night for the delivery and nothing.

Called customer sevices the following day who then had the store call me. Delivery driver didn't show up for work and 15 deliveries didn't go out. No one called me and all I got was a sorry for your inconvenience and I had to wait 3 days for a refund.

I only did an online shop as I'd just gotten out of hospital after a miscarriage/ERPC and didn't want to go out in public to be stalked by pregnant women. Plus I have a 2 year old DD.

I have written and complained. No one has even bothered to reply after 6 weeks. I am now a happy Sainsbury's customer.

Funnily enough Asda were hour and half tonight so that was my first phone call. Then when it was delivered there were 6 items missing so that was my second phone call of the evening

Don't you find that it gets worse near Christmas. I think they get casual staff in and things go AWOL for a while. Last year, as I was carrying my Tesco stuff into the kitchen I noticed that some of the bags weren't mine, so called them up - explained driver couldn't be more than two minutes up the road, did he want to come back. They said no, tight schedule, just keep the stuff with our compliments. I had all my shopping but some poor soul was missing three bags of shopping on Christmas Eve!!
