I think it's been around awhile but we'd never played it before - ds2 got it for his birthday on Thursday.
Headbanz Thought I'd mention it for those still looking for presents.
It's dead simple - you wear a headband with a card with an object on it, and you ask questions and try and guess what you are. There's an egg timer but we didn't bother with it (though older children would probably like the more competitive aspect of being timed).
Apart from the fact that there is just something inherently funny about someone walking round with a card on their head that says "I am Spinach" it's really a lot of fun and a game that adults and children can play together without the adults dying of boredom.
It's supposed to be for 7+ but ds2 is only five and can manage it with a bit of help (bit of prompting about what questions to ask etc.) There are pictures as well as writing on the cards so children don't have to be able to read.
Ds1 (9) and ds2 played it together for ages today without war breaking out - til ds2 figured out that he could cheat by going in the kitchen and looking at his reflection in the chrome kitchen bin. Only he hasn't a clue how to cheat craftily so he'd be guessing wildly "am I alive? do I have any legs? am I in our house? am I pink?" - shoot off into the kitchen, come back and declare "I am a potato!" Dh and I were in stitches
