Estate cars - advice please!

We are going to trade in our 06 plate golf and want something with a bigger boot. An estate seems like the obvious choice.

Looking online though they all seem to have 1.2 or 1.4 engines. My golf is 1.6 and not a fancy racer edition or anything. So why do these bigger cars, with capacity for a larger load have smaller engines?
Will I notice them being sluggish, or are newer engines more efficient at getting mph out of the car? Confused

Also can you recommend some?
I'm thinking golf/ Passat - lovely but ££
Skoda Octavia estate
Not sure what else TBH.

Thanks! :)

Yeah we do them, to be honest they're actually proving to be one of the more popular choices nowadays.

It's basically a halfway house where you can hand the keys back at the end or pay a balloon payment to own the car outright.

It's a good idea if you don't like to stick to the one car and the low monthly payments are a bonus :) Downside of this is that there's usually a mileage limit you agree to and you will be charged if you go over.

If you need further advice, our guys here at Car Keys would be more than happy to go through it with you.

I'm selling my Audi estate at the moment. it's been a brilliant car for us and I'd definitely recommend them. Lots of room in the back and incredibly reliable.

Another vote for the Skoda Octavia here - fab car. No idea about finance sorry!

Thanks all!

We are currently leaning towards the seat Leon st (estate) or golf estate.

The Octavia was just a bit 'meh' to me - it was fine but not a car I like enough to choose.

Head says golf is just a bit too much money.
