Anyone tried / seen the Britax Vigour buggy?

Saw it in Mothercare the other day - was attracted by the relatively compact design, big tyres (on the 3 wheel version) and the fact that the seat unit can be either forward or rear facing.

Had a look on ebay and you can get it without the carrycot and car seat.

Got a Maclaren techno at the mo which is great for shopping, not so good for grass/rough ground, would also prefer to have LO facing as she's only 4 months.

Any thoughts appreciated

PS also thinking about getting 2nd car seat, the travel system comes with a Britax Cosy Tot car seat. Are they any good? (DD currently 4.5 months)

Hiya, I've just had mine delivered.....went for the whole package... carrycot (Jan baby due, so wanted something cosy), carseat & 3 wheeler vigour. Have played with it all, so fire away with any questions

You can also buy just pushchair / carrycot / carseat separately from kiddicare.com - full range of colours there.

I also already have a techno (from dd1), but wanted a buggy that faced me that was nice to push on longer walks I've worn the wheels right down on my techno.... and on my previous graco, so air tyres were a "must" for me.

The one thing I've disliked so far is that you can't leave the carseat adaptors on the chassis if you want to keep swapping between carseat, seat unit and carrycot (you have to remove them to fit both the seat unit & the carrycot). So, if you can get away with not wanting to use the carseat on the chassis, then I would personally just buy the chassis & seat unit (as you won't be needing the carrycot either with a 4.5 month old!).

Thanks Saltcod - congrats and good wishes for your January LO

Oooh - I'm so tempted! Can't easily go and view it again as the Mothercare where I saw it is about 1/2 an hour's drive away, they don't have it in stock in our local one.

Just had one question if you have a mo - not wanting you to go to a lot of trouble taking measurements or anything - but would you say that keeping the seat unit on it when folded adds a lot to the 'folded' size? It says that you can fold it either with or without the seat unit on it. The Mothercare site gives the folded size as 50cm x 80cm x 23cm (but doesn't say if that's with or without seat), and the Kiddicare site says folded size is 96 x 63 x50cm which is quite a lot bigger, so maybe that includes the seat?

You're welcome!

The mothercare folded size is just the chassis...... it's massive when folded with the seat unit on because the seat unit is "L" shaped & doesn't squash down at all! If you go to the britax website you can download the PDF brochure - that shows the folded dimensions with the seat unit on (basically agrees with the kiddicare dimensions!). But the seat unit is very easy to unclip & if I take it off, I can get that and the folded chassis into the boot of my saxo (have to lose the parcel shelf, though!).

Thanks v much for info and the link.

Still tempted, but that's a bit of a bummer about the folded size - the main justification for us buying a new pram is to find a smallish 'off-roader' (horrible term, but can't think of a better one!) that we can take on weekends away. And rear facing is a bonus. But need to be able to fit luggage in the boot as well...

Such a beast doesn't seem to exist though, surely a huge gap in the market - take note pram manufacturers!

It did seem quite nippy when I wheeled it round the shop, so could maybe multitask at shopping as well... will go and have another look I think. Thanks v much again Saltcod!
