you could try rags..it's fun and makes lovely ringlets

alibo · 25/11/2006 19:51

want something really that is quick to use to create loose waves rather than curls as such; argos alone has 5 blinkin pages of straightners/curlers! mind boggling !

I use a hot air curler, like the carmen one on this page
Mine is a phillips, v. easy to use, and if you want looser curls you just put a bigger section of hair round the barrel.
Make sure you get one with retractable 'bristles' cos this stops tangles and makes it easier to remove the barrel from the curl.

ok read these reviews of angel curls

and then buy them in argos for 10.99, they are on display by the counter in our local one i have just come back from there

or 12.99 online

I have angel curls and they are pretty poor. Not hot enough and water drizzles out of the steam aperture.

Would be ok for someone with fine hair maybe.

Have also got revlon big curls which is ok.

Best thing is twisting ghd's because then you get that wavy look but your hair is still smooth

nappyaddict · 27/11/2006 01:15

do you have the ceramic angel curls?

alibo · 27/11/2006 10:49

will look at some of these; lorina, excuse my ignorance, but waht are ghd's!!?

Alibo ghd's are the v expensive (but worth it) hair straighteners.
If you twist as you go along the hair you get that kind of loose wavy curl, but it still keeps it super sleek. To be honest its not that easy to do on yourself, you need a bit practice.

Nappyaddict yes the angel curls are ceramic. I dont think they get up to a high enough temperature to be really effective

nappyaddict · 27/11/2006 23:37

what's wrong with them? don't ther curls last very long?

lorina · 28/11/2006 09:10

Because they arent very hot you have to hold them in place for ages and even then you dont get a very smooth, defined curl

nappyaddict · 28/11/2006 16:01

hmmm was gonna get them as a xmas present for my niece but maybe i won't now!
