Rocking Chairs - Are they worth buying?

I've been thinking about buying a rocking chair for the inevitable night feeds I have ahead of me and looked on kiddicare.com for them. I saw some lovely ones, but the starting price was around £400!!!!! That's just way too much for me. I could get a sofa for less.

Does anyone out there have one that they can recommend that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Or I'd even buy a 2nd hand one from you?

don't bother,I bought one and couldn't feed properly on it,wish I'd bought a comfy armchaair instead as would still take up as much room and be comfier.

I have got enormous tits so I need a lot of room to get the buggers out and not suffocate baby.I however did buy a nursing glider chair with both kids(11 years apart) and ended up selling them soon after.

I expect if you have normal boobs (Mine are 38g were probably 38z when feeding ds) the rockers wouldn't be so cramped,I just found I needed more width...buy a big armchair instead

I agree with polly - I had a glider rocker and they are not ideal for breastfeeding - the arms get in the way - and being wooden they are not ideal right next to a baby's head. However we did find it useful for cuddling sleepy babies and (dare I say it) rocking them to sleep. I think a low, soft armless chair is ideal for feeding.

lol Polly28 - I definitely don't have that problem. I'm a 36B and my chest only gets more pert when pregnant, rather than bigger! Maybe just crept upto a C cup when bfing ds.
