oh duh, amazon

is it good?

was thinking that ideally i'd like a wireless one...(god I'm not hard to please, am I? )

ps we especially like the cloud hopping.

OOOoooh, we haven't tried cloud hopping yet. DD has been obsessed with the butterflies and dressing up for a few weeks now but new favourite is pony racing. I haven't seen any wireless children's ones, we went to pcworld and they didn't have any children's ones at all. I like dd's one because it fits her hand nicely it's also quite sensitive and the 'nose' bit is like a wheel, easy for scrolling down mumsnet threads...ahem...

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 17/11/2006 07:49

ah sounds good

wireless I was thinking of cos ds seems left handed (lots of left handers in family so this is quite likely) and I know dp, who is lh, prefers a trackerball/wireless mouse cos otherwise he has to use it rh...if that makes sense...

Sorry for being stupid but why does it make a difference if it has a wire (it's very long and our USB port is on the left side of the computer anyway...) Duuuuuuuuuuur

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 17/11/2006 08:01

that is a very good question

i do not know

it may be dp's excuse for being fussy

yes

I should check that

(or alternatively his excuse for needing a £50 trackerball)

my dd uses the computer a lot

i just bought a wireless keyboard and mouse, the smallest mouse i could find

i put tiny red dots on the keys that spell her name - she plays games where she needs to type her name a lot - and the arrows and the space bar

thats about all she uses

she manages fine with the mouse (and she has little hands) except she does right click by accident quite a lot

hth

My dd presses the right button all the time too and then starts shrieking that the computer is broken (what dd, drama queen?!!) I like the idea of dots on the keys to spell her name!

Fillyjonk - can you spell 'gadget addict'??!! He's a man!

I'm off to try cloud hopping

nailpolish · 17/11/2006 08:09

it was just PC World

its a Logitech keyboard and mouse if thats any help

was one of the cheapest too iirc

CatBert · 17/11/2006 08:13

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 17/11/2006 08:24

ok then

am thinking laptop mouse, wireless if pos, plus acrylic paint

thoughts?

OP posts:
danceswithmonkeys · 17/11/2006 08:57

acrylic paint? what for?!!! if you mean the dots I'd use nail varnish as acrylic will scratch off.

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 17/11/2006 09:02

hmmm

but it will look nicer

OP posts:
danceswithmonkeys · 17/11/2006 09:09

hee hee! You can get nail varnish in all different colours now you know...new fangled inventions!

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 17/11/2006 09:11

I would not bother with a childs mouse or keyboard. I planned to get one for my son, but before I got around to it, I realized he was using the mouse and keyboard just fine. It only takes a short while for them to get used to it. My 3yr old daughter is now quite capable of playing the games on the CBBeebies website.I do like the idea of putting dots on the letters of her name though.

w havea macmini - no buttons on the mouse
