Books for four months plus?

DS is 4 months old. DD (3.10) has a small collection of soft books, rhymes and lift-the-flap books which we read to her at that age, but I'd like to get a few more (not least for me to have a change of books to read to him!). What books did your little ones particularly love?

The 'That's not my...' series is pretty good e.g. That's not my car. Usually find some of them in any bookstore. I also bought one of those nursery rhyme collections with really bright colourful illustrations & am still reading now with DS, who's nearly 3. Your local library ought to have a good selection, you can get a card for your ds & borrow some to save you from boredom?! I don't think I'll bother buying any for ds2 when he arrives next month, as I'll be taking ds1 to the library anyway...

dorling kindersley do 'touch and feel' books, we have the farm and the home one. the home one is the big favourite. and in the states you can buy books .ike 'where is baby's belly button?' by karen katz, they are beautiful and dd still loves to read them every day. also i second the 'that's not my...' series and dear zoo. LOVE dear zoo. and i'm putting the hungry caterpillar on our christmas list...

DD loves the "Thats not my..." range of books.
She had her 1st one at around 5 months of age and now at 17 months she still loves them. I think they are brill because for a younger baby the are able to touch and feel the pages etc and for the older ones they can feel the pages thenselves and dd can easily turn the pages now (obviosuly given the fact the pages are cardboard she doesn't tear them like other books..!) and we can still read her the words..

There is a huge range of them and atm on offer at elc. 3 for 2.
