has anyone bought the battery operated bubble machine from the elc or anywhere else ftm? We love bubbles in our family but I don't want to throw £15 away on another bit of plastic cr*p if it doesn't work.

Funnily enough, ds just got given one from the elc for his birthday party today - very big hit. Wasn't the model you're looking at for £15 though, was this one which although is smaller (and cheaper!), is absolutely ace!

We have the ELVC one. DD was bought it for her birthday. Been a huge hit. Makes loads of bubbles and the mixture seems to go a reasonably long way too.

We've got the ELC £15 one and its great (been using it today in the garden).

If you want different colour bubbles, put a drop of food colouring in, doesn't seem to do any harm.

DS2 had the ELC one for his birthday & it was a big hit. Loads of bubbles. Not sure how long the batteries will last though!

I don't know if they exist in the uk, but I have just bought the best thing in bubble making. It is a NON-spillable pot. That way my toddlers can blow their own bubbles without mummy's help and without spilling soap all over themselves/the floor within minutes of taking out the bubbles. It doesn't really matter that the pot is just a simple one that they dip an old fashioned bubble wand into, they enjoy it more than any other fancy thing I've bought, because they can play with it for ages, since it doesn't spill.

Thanks everyone I think we've got to have one! btw the non-spill pot rings a bell. It's in one of those catalogues - Great little trading or Urchin. I've often wondered if they're any good because my lot are always spilling the mixture!

non spill pot is great great great. My 18 mo. can do bubbles on her own...well she does seem to lick as much as she blows, but at least she and the floor isn't soaked at the end of it.
