Looking for a pushchair for two year old twins.

I have totally had it with my old one, which is a side by side, it is buggered.
I don't want to spend much as they wont need it for much longer, they don't often sleep in the pushchair.
I have seen ones that don't take up much more space than a single, but don't know where to get them.
Any ideas? Thanks

i have the phil and ted's which is a bit like a double decker. it can be used as a single as well. Many people think its weird, especially for the lower seat, but my dd (almost 3) actually prefers that seat, even though i thought they would have turns. It is incredible to push

NannyL · 12/11/2006 20:27

my 3.8 year old charge also prefers the back / bottom seat of the phil and teds!

i cant believe how it is possible to push 31kg of child easily 1 handed.... but it is! [grin}

u could always get a used buggy off ebay and put it back on ebay in a few months time!

MumtoAnne · 12/11/2006 23:00

i must i fell in love with the mountain buggy, and could have got it for the price of a phil and ted (BIL bringing it over from NY), but was put off by it being a side-by-side, and being much heavier, therefore might not be able to chuck in the boot.

MumtoAnne · 12/11/2006 23:00

should have said, i must say...!

NannyL · 13/11/2006 09:21

the double mountain buggy is also not that great at fitting through doors!

the single mountain buggy is my all time favourite single all terraine buggy!

twickersmum · 13/11/2006 10:17

another vote for Phil & Ted's...
but are you sure you need it? i got a double buggy when my second was due (DD1 19 months) and suddenly aged 2 and a few months she always wants to walk. it really was quite sudden - from always in buggy to hardly ever in it. You could just get a buggy board for the back of the single and they could take turns?

Overrun · 13/11/2006 10:33

Twickersmum - my ds1 was a good walker but still needed pushchair for a year or so for longer walks. I find the trouble with twins is that you can't give them as much independence as you would a single child. I think I will use it a lot this year still, and thats worth it to me. If I did the single pushchair and buggy board option, I think I would struggle because my three year old hasn't got that good road sense, so tend to still hold his hand.

don't know why I said my old one was buggered, its still fine, just sick of not being able to get through doorways. Looking for a reason to get a new one, oh well, I have done it now!

with the P&T you can steer with one hand and hold your other kids hand
