How much should I expect to pay for a wand (Harry Potter style)?

I am lost in the ebaying world of wands. Have no idea what type I should buy for DS for christmas or what I should be paying, or what they really look like in RL. Have been to Toys R Us to compare, but they don't have any.

Any advice?

You can buy wands?

Why don't you just cut a nice shiny twig off a bush or tree? It would probably look more authentic...

Oh I know but some of the ones I've seen on Ebay have light up bits, or spells or something. I've never seen them in RL so don't really know what they are or how they work or whether they're any good or worth the ca. £14 they appear to be going for.

The "Friends" childrens magasine had one in it's last edition(mid Oct). It may still be around. A black wand with white tips. Cost £1.99. HTH

Non-light-up ones here for £14 - £15.

saltire · 08/11/2006 11:03

The one i tried to link to was £4.99.

I will learn to do links before i am 60

WhizzBangCaligula · 08/11/2006 11:24

Those non-light up ones look great. But I bet DS would prefer one which lit up and sent out sparks...

And did magic of course...

Sainsburys had some in for halloween, they were selling them off the other day for about 99p!
Have a look if you have one near.
