Where can I get lovely soft, cheap pyjamas on the high street please? For 3 yo?

Fillyboy, 3, has £10 burning a hole in his rather tiny pocket (belated birthday present).

He would like a pair of real, proper pyjamas.

I think this probably involves brushed cotton or plaid, though he's a sucker for dinosaurs, cars, space, animals and anything pink and glittery.

I don't want to traipse in and out of 30 shops, ruling out charity shops. I want to get in and choose pyjamas, preferably from a wide range so as to fillyboy a decent shopping experience, and then get out while the shop is still standing. Am hoping to keep dd imprisoned in backpack but may not work.

so, please, where? Under a tenner much the best, though don't mind subsidising a little.

tia.

PRIMARK! Lovely old-fashioned pyjamas in warm brushed cotton for about £3. You can get plaid in lots of colours and dinosaurs. All folded nicely and tied in ribbon. Make good presents I think.

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 06/11/2006 19:53

really?

How interesting

They do funky knickers as well, as I recall

Ok, Primark it is

I like Primark. Their labour relations suck but my god, Cardiff Primark is well endowed with lifts.

Woolies have some nice brushed cotton spiderman ones!

nutcracker · 06/11/2006 19:55

I recommend Primark too, get all my kids pj's from there, they are great and nice and cheap.

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2006 19:56

Primark.

They have nice pyjamas for grown ups as well.

beckybrastraps · 06/11/2006 19:56

Ooh yes. We don't have a Primark and I was all excited going to the one where my mum lives. But all I came out with was pyjamas for the children. Still, they are nice pyjamas. I've also bought some nice ones in the past from vertbaudet.

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 06/11/2006 19:57

Do they wash well and so forth?

They sound too good to be true

popsycal · 06/11/2006 19:59

nutcracker · 06/11/2006 20:00

i second matalan - had some lovely traditional navy brushed cotton (i liked them) and a red burshed cotton tradtional but with the disney cars print on it (ds liked that one). I cant remeber how much but previous post sounds about right.

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 06/11/2006 20:09

aaargh matalan is my favoured cheapo shop for various reasons but we don;t have one in town (part of deal here is that we get on the bus and go to town and buy pyjamas...its all part of the adventure IYSWIM)

so I think primark is winning. it will be quiet. it has a lift. it has cheap flowery knickers. Sorted.

I bought ds some lovely pyjamas from Primark,(cheap'n'cheerful, thats me) for £3.They wash well too.

anniebear · 06/11/2006 20:13

Primark for me also

we got some gorgeous fleecy ones from there for £3 each, they are so soft and have washed well

also got a pack of 2 lovely ones for £5

popsycal · 06/11/2006 20:16

i may now have to go to primark....we need fleecy ones too for my two boys who insist on 'one leg in; one leg out' when they go to bed

tamum · 06/11/2006 20:17

Another vote for Primark. Actually the seam on ds's came undone after one wash, but it was just badly stitched, easily repaired. Dd's are lovely.

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 06/11/2006 20:27

dd can't sleep with any sort of covering, including a duvet. My god, if we tried to use a grobag the police would be called. So might get some for her also.

I do love the idea of kids in matching pyjamas. Am thinking of match funding, so that perhaps I can have duplicates...

(he also bought a pair of flowery slippers, some pink sequinned gloves, a furry gillet, and some lime green wellies...I chucked a fiver in...we got all that for £15 )

I am quite actually. Am assuming that kids of about fillyboy's age are making the bloody things
