If so are they any good my dd ( 6 in Jan) wants a laptop for christmas. I can get 30% off at woolies tomorrow and this is the only one they do suitable for her age. I know she would probably like a Barbie one or anything pink but my finances are quite streched this year. Can you give me reviews if you have one
Thankyou

I'm bumping myself as I really need to know by tomorrow. I think I probably will buy one but I need some reassurance that it isn't a waste of money

did you get one albatros?

LIZS · 05/11/2006 16:18

Sorry only just seen this, possibly too late. Is it the orangey yellow one ? If so ds won one in a competition a few years back but had largely outgrown the functions by the age of 7/year 3. It is really more of a basic arithemetic and literacy games console than an actual laptop. Having said that if were were to replace the batteries dd (who is 5 and in Year 1) would probably find it useful and fun.

we bought one in Argos yesterday reduced from £29.99 to £22.49.

I nearly bought one on Friday for ds who is 4 today. In the end I put it back because I thought, well, he's just going to use the main computer so what's the point. Then telling people about it yesterday a few people who have it say it's not great. The screen is tiny on it for a start and to get to the activities can be complicated for a 4 yr old.

Yes I did get one it,s the blue / grey one for ages 5 - 7 £29.99 but with discount £21.00. I also brought the orangy yellow one £14.99 for dd2 who is 3 with reduction £10.48

I had the same thoughts about the size of the screen and the poor graphics but she really wants one and although she sometimes uses our 'proper computer' it causes arguments with dd2 which is why I brought dd2 one as well.

I had a look in the argos catalogue with her earlier, she was pointing at the pink ones saying I want that one, I pointed at the one I've brought and said 'oh yes that one would be to hard for you it has 40 different things to do I don't think you would be able to do that' she feel perfectly into my plan and now really, really, really wants the one I brought
