Anyone using a buggyboard with Maclaren Techno?

Hi. Would love to hear from anyone that has used a buggyboard with the Maclaren Techno.

Do the older models - original and universal, fold up into the 'resting position' ok using the tether strap when not in use?

Anyone tried to put the new 3G into resting position? Please do let me know how!!!

Final question - how do users get up/down stairs with a buggy board?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions. Am suspicious there is a compatibility issue with the new 3G - but desperately hoping it's just 'user-error' on my part!

Hope to hear from you.

I used it with the 2003 model. The fitting was unusual, but I phoned their helpline and got it sorted. I have to say that I didn't really tend to use the strap that much - I tended to hook the board on and off as needed.

Had one of the older technos with older buggy board and it was fine...

Thanks for your replies.

Can I ask Oops - Where have you attached the connectors?

(I have a new Techno - maybe there are some subtle changes to the frame.)

Thanks. It seems that not all Maclaren Technos are the same - the new frame has 'sticky-out' plastic mouldings which prevent you from using this attachment point (almost as if on purpose - they wouldn't would they???)

Anyone else run up against this problem with the new buggy?

Click here and then click on the orange writing at the bottom to find out how to fit it onto your buggy.

Is buggyboard a generic or specific one? I am looking to buy something (outgrown my phil & ted) and there seem to be all sorts of things on the market...?

"Buggyboard" I believe is the registered tradename belonging to Lascal - and it is their current 3G model that I have been having the problems with. (They used to have a small range, but now it is just the 3G for buggies or the Kiddyboard for prams). There are increasingly other variations of the theme in the marketplace - including some that the child can also sit down on. Some pushchair manufacturers are producing their own for use with their products (Jane and Bugaboo for starters), but Maclaren are resolutely staying out of the game and insisting using a buggyboard will invalidate their warranty.

Thanks Flutterby for the Mothercare fitting info - but unfortunately, though similar this is a different buggy and that method won't work with my Techno. (Interesting, only a few months ago Mothercare were refusing to stock buggyboards as they claimed they damaged some buggies/pushchairs etc).
