I don't know, but why don't you use a debit card instead ? Visa Delta is accepted on most shopping websites.

The Sunday Telegraph reviewed them last week. They said there is usually a transaction charge, so there is little or no benefit in using them. Visa Cash is one example.

One exception is the London Underground. Oyster Card pay-as-you-go saves me about 20% on rail season tickets as I do not travel into town every day. Ken Livinstone tried to extend Oyster Cards so they could be used in shops as well, but the idea was blocked.

There are lots of them about - I came across loads on the internet while I was looking for a new credit card a while ago.
It's just like a pre-paid card - you put as much on it as you want/can afford and then shop away from what I can gather, although not quite sure what the point of it is. May aswell just use a debit card

Is it for people who can't get a debit card ?

I heard about some on the radio yesterdya. Called something like 3v or similar. You buy vouchers which you can then use for internet shopping.

I'm not sure. I thought anyone could get a debit card because the money had to be there for it to be used.

NomDePlume · 03/11/2006 13:01

I don't think everyone can get a debit card with their bank account. Not sure why though, as you can just have a standard current account with no overdraft etc so you would only be able to access money that is actually in the account with the card.

Ahhhh

After I was a student I was refused a debit card as I was so in debt. I had to be in credit for about a year before they let me have a debit card (as opposed to just a cashcard).
