are the ones from MIllets any good? I want a seriously warm one, not the Boden crappy ones

Cheaper option is a long sleeve vest and normal tights, would be fine for a hours riding lesson, perhaps not for skiing etc.

I agree with the suggestion to get stuff from mountain and walking stores, where they do treat the warmth of clothing, lierally, as a matter of life and death.

I used to wear thermal undies, and layers - and you must have something windproof.

if the cost isn't too much of an issue try musto - they go riding fleeces and jackets, and in kids sizes too. They last forever so if you can get one s/hand it'd be fine. Their jackets which are windproof too are fab, try riadeaway.co.uk or there'll be loads of other stockists.
