Hi
I'm new to all this. I am need to buy an All terrain buggy but am quite keen for one with a rear facing option due to all the media attention it has received lately regarding speach development etc.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I wouldn't take the media attention too seriously! Unless your baby/toddler is going to spend HOURS a day in its buggy, there will be plenty of time for communicating.

FWIW, I bought a buggy with rear facing option (Bugaboo Frog) - DD spent 5mths lying flat in the cot bit, so facing me (I do think it is important for them to have a flat bed, and I did like to be able to see her at this stage). From 5mths til 9mths she was rear facing in the buggy seat, ie a grand total of 4mths, then she was straining to look forwards rather than at me. So, whilst I was v glad of the cot option, I don't think the rear facing seat was essential by any means. Oh, and her speech development is WAY above average (exceptional according to my paediatrician MIL ) compared to her peer group.

So I'd just concentrate on getting a good all-terrain with a cot for the 1st few months (you can either get a 2nd hand cot or sell it on after). I've now got a Mountain Buggy Urban which I love love love (although if you need serious all-terrain, you might want to consider the Mountain Buggy Terrain - cream of the crop by far) - you can attach cots to both of these.

Then just spend lots of time playing with/reading to/interacting with your little one

Hope this helps!

the bebeconfort high trek & the britax vigour 3 are both rear-facing 3 wheelers.

Also, if you go to the bebecar website, most of their buggies are reversible.
