100% Cotton children's bedding???

Hi

I wanted some advice from some fellow parents. I have 2 children and really wanted to get them some 100% cotton duvet covers - cotbed size for my son and single size for my daughter. I really want material that is good for their skin and that is breathable - my kids seem to sweat a lot!! There seems to be a real lack of them on the high street (they only seem to sell polycotton!!). Do you know of any good places to buy?

I also wanted to ask how much would you typically spend on a 100% cotton cotbed duvet and cotton 100% single duvet set? Not really sure how much I should spend.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Laura Ashley kids and little white company do nice 100% cotton duvet covers. The often have good sale offers I think they are around £30-40 full price. White company do cot bed ones although I always bought full size to be useful when older .

IKEA make 100% cotton stuff in all ranges from cheap to top quality and the kids ranges are cute. You might want to check their sizes though, as the simgles are often 150 cm wide. For something a bit more special, I recommend Justlinen.co.uk online. Good prices and excellent delivery.

I got our cotton flannel set from John Lewis and it's brilliant, washes at 60 and is so soft. Especially good as it is a set and comes with a sheet, pillowcase and duvet cover. I'm afraid I can't remember how much it cost, but remember thinking it was good value. I think it is their Little Homes range?

I have another set, gingham, from the White Company, again great quality. this one is just the duvet cover and pillow case, I bought the bottom sheet elsewhere( m&s or John Lewis probably). I can't remember it's cost. I bought it as I know I can dye cotton gingham in the machine, so it can change colours once she is over the pink thing.

Ours are also from John Lewis, DD's favourite set was £19 in the sale!

Another vote for Ikea but check the label as not all are cotton.
Denelm Mill do plain white 100% cotton which you could dye yourself. Or even tie dye if you are feeling adventurous.

What type of duvet do they have? I had the same problem with sweaty DC and once I swapped back to blankets/sheets (even poly cotton ones) they don't get anywhere near as so hot & clammy any more. All the kids duvets I've had were man made fibres and they seem to hold the heat/air in too much for my DC.

I was really surprised to get 100% cotton bedding in one of the Lidl specials recently! It was a character duvet/pillow cover set. We only have pure cotton bedding here - the children have inherited DH's radiator tendencies.

Thank you so much everyone for all the advice and suggestions.

Laura Ashley, and definitely do check the labels at ikea. I picked up something under a 100% cotton sign, and the label said poly cotton.
