Problem with Jane Powertrack foot brake?

I recently bought a Jane Powertrack 360 and have been absolutely delighted with it in all respects except for the foot brake. I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with this? It seems incredibly stiff, and although I can push it down to get the brake on, it is very hard to then kick up again when I want to get going. I often feel I might be about to break the whole bar. And I've no idea how I'm going to do it without breaking my foot once I'm wearing summer flip flops!
I already took it back to the shop once and they had a fiddle, so before I fo and pester them again I was wondering if this is a general problem or just my particular buggy?

Hi Soph, I have the same model as you. The foot brake shouldn't be too stiff, but I do think you have to push it down and up from the very middle, other wise it wont go. I too had the same problem with flip flops last Summer, it was very awkward to take the brake off because I used to put my toe in the bar underneath and lever my foot upwards iyswim. This year I'm going to try a different method!

Hi Soph, we have had similiar problems, but I found that it was me not the brake!!! I've now discovered the correct technique, put your foot under the brake with your toes on the middle of the axle and lever your foot upwards, you shouldn't need to struggle at all. Good luck.

sorry to hijack, but ivybridgite, do you actuallly live in Ivybridge, south devon? we are thinking of moving there (family nearby) in a year or two.

Used to, now living abroad, but want to return to the South West when we eventually settle. Ivybridge is a lovely place but not much to do for kids(of all ages). It's growing rapidly so they may have rectified that in a year or two. It's a small town with a kinda village feel to it. where do your family live?
