Hi All :)

I wonder if you could help assist me on my Third Year project at Nottingham Trent University. I am studying Marketing and Branding and I am looking into the food industry for my dissertation. As part of my project I have developed a new brand concept which aims to make the shopping experience easier. My research has found that many parents with children are increasingly time-poor meaning that the food shopping can be a bit of a nightmare, therefore I would like to know your thoughts on the brand concept I am working on and whether it would appeal to you and help with your weekly routines.

The food-box phenomena has become somewhat ‘trendy’ in recent years with the likes of start-up brands like Graze gaining international success, my concept develops this idea further. My concept is based on the idea that consumers want heightened convenience in all areas of their life, yet can struggle to purchase food which is environmentally friendly, healthy and nutritious because the food shopping experience can be seen as stressful and time-consuming. This can often lead to people not knowing what to cook and struggling to find time to sit down and have a home-cooked meal.

The concept will be provide customers with an easy way to buy, receive and create healthy food and share this with their families. The service will use local produce where possible, educating on the importance of fresh food for the environment and our health. They will be aimed at time-poor families that sometimes find it hard in the week to prepare food. The concept will be based on a simple recipe box which will include exact measurements for each recipe, along with the ingredients needed and a simple recipe card. The recipes will aim to help solve the problem of food wastage by providing carefully measured out portion sizes.

The boxes would be completely customizable, catering for any dietary requirements, tastes and portion sizes. The recipes available to choose from will change weekly and there will be child friendly options and portion sizes. The boxes will be completely environmentally friendly and will be delivered in re-usable boxes. There will also be flexibility in how many recipe boxes you can order, but they will mainly focus on serving the often hectic Monday to Thursday period mid-week. The emphasis is not necessarily on eating healthy, but providing notoriously balanced meals, with mainly fresh and unprocessed ingredients.

I understand that this post is pretty long but I would really love to hear some of your views on the idea and how it could be improved?

Thank you,

Zoe :)

A company is already doing this, I got their ad in the jojo maman magazine. I can't remember the name but it's a brilliant idea if it's affordable.
