They look rather interesting but the link on the Brio website doesn't work and when I tried to email them that didn't work either.

i like the computer virus figures, have to get some for my son i think!

marymillington · 22/10/2006 20:33

Yes, its fab, DS is getting some for Xmas - purely because I think I can muster more enthusiasm for playing with it than for boring old trains. But part of me worries that he'd rather just have the trains.

Apparently they were designed by a product design student at the RCA who did them as a project and sent it to Brio.

southeastastra · 22/10/2006 21:22

bet they'll be a sell out for christmas. well done to the design student

hi all
I have studied the Brio site but I can't work out what they actually do.

Are they basically battery operated trains which make noises?
what bits do you need to get started, eg could you just buy one 'train' with character?

hovely · 24/10/2006 11:58

bump again please?

TooTickyTheAppleBobber · 25/10/2006 10:09

If you mean the Networkers, I'm still pretty much in the dark myself. The ordinary Brio trains are great though - they do some battery ones but most are the good old-fashioned type. I LOVE Brio - we have been to the Brio museum in Sweden. Twice

You can buy just a train but the track is great fun and very addictive (why are there never enough curves?)Try ebay for second hand sets to get started.

Thanks TTTAB
i did actually mean the network toys. I think I have managed to get a grip on the wooden railway!
By the way I found a really good site for extra bits of brio-compatible track etc, good prices and very friendly, personal service:
