A quick google and a look in the manual and they recommend britax seats as long as you turn the airbag off. Check in the car manual.

As for the boot my friend had loads of stuff in her boot when she had one. I would take it and try it

timelord1912 · 09/02/2015 00:32

No you cant so dont bother

nowomennocry15 · 09/02/2015 00:37

my dp and i had a discussion like this, he won as i reliased that smaller cars are a pain with new borns and having prams baby bags etc etc, get a fiesta dear alot of room in them and still as cheap to run

natureplantar101 · 09/02/2015 00:56

i want something tiny and nifty a fiesta is too big and i will try timelord you know i will Wink I've read they need the airbag manually switched off by a smart car dealership and the boot space looks reasonable i don't carry much anyway and it would stop me from cramming the car full of junk i don't need

Plus I'm slightly accident prone Grin scared if i have a car that's too big ill go round a corner too close and knock the side of the car off or something plus i need to see over the windscreen

Smile nice car, have you tried sitting behind the wheel of it to see if you could drive, plus if you haven't been driving then it will be abit scary at first

Snowflakepie · 10/02/2015 17:43

DH has an Octavia estate that I will not go near Smile I have a Mini. Can fit everything and the dog in too. Have a look. Dd sits up front with the airbag off, just a key turn in the dash so simple to do depending on who is with me. Also has isofix in the back if you prefer.

Anomaly · 16/02/2015 17:19

Steering is a doddle especially on modern cars with power steering. Its changing gear that's the trickiest bit of learning. If you're planning on having lessons I doubt you'll have them in a smartcar.

Sleepyhoglet · 16/02/2015 18:43

Nature you sound like me!!

Artandco · 16/02/2015 18:44

Have a look at the babyzen yoyo 0+. That pram will fit easily in the smart car.

Artandco · 16/02/2015 18:47

The smart car with x4 doors and x4 seats is really nice. Can fit everyone in easily

Sleepyhoglet · 16/02/2015 18:47

Passed my test 2 years ago but only been out about 4 times alone and today first time with my 12 week baby! I drive a seat Ibiza and have found it ok surprisingly despite wanting something tiny. I learnt on a vw polo or maybe golf. Buy something similar to the car you learn on.

natureplantar101 · 16/02/2015 21:33

Hate the yoyo looks like a joke on wheels to me i like bugaboos Grin

Artandco · 16/02/2015 21:54

I would look again at it tbh. We had the bugaboo and I prefer the yoyo tbh.

Sleepyhoglet · 16/02/2015 22:55

I have a bee btw but I baby wear a lot. Started with a caboo now getting a connecta then a beco or ergo

Sleepyhoglet · 16/02/2015 22:56

Yoyo looks like a bee

natureplantar101 · 16/02/2015 22:57

No it doesn't. much smaller and not parent facing and doesn't have a carrycot.

MissWimpyDimple · 16/02/2015 23:02

Small is great and all, but what happens if you get into an argue men with a massive 4WD? Surely you have no hope in those circumstances?
Since having kids I've tried to stick to reasonable sized cars that might give us a chance at survival...
(No idea what the safety record of a smart car is but they look flimsy and there isn't a lot to crumple before you get squashed)

Sleepyhoglet · 16/02/2015 23:02

Ok! I hadn't heard of it so googled. I impulse bought a bee last week as a little pushchair and quite like it. A pain on bumpy pavements but a dream jn the mall.

Sleepyhoglet · 16/02/2015 23:03

If you can afford it I'd get a 5 door car, but then I'm someone who struggles with the Ibiza st space wise!
