My f/f is fairly new - but buying new kitchen. Can I buy the cupboard as if I was buying integrated and just put my F/F in it?

When a friend was in a similar position she was able to get a special thing to attach the fridge door to the cupboard door so that when you opened the cupboard the fridge door opened too.

Possiubly not. It depoends IIRC on where/how the fridge vents the warmed air. Check with the m'factr whether your model is suitable.

dont think so tracy. when i was getting quotes for a kitchen refit I am sure I was told that in order to have integrated appliances you have to buy specific appliances. you could however just whack the f/f in the cupboard anyway and not attach the door. so the appliance would be hidden away but not intergrated (ie you would open cupboard door then open f/f.

Thats what I was going to do Katie - I don't mind opening 2 doors if it means it is hidden.

We did this with Ikea units, but just left the back of the units to allow more air to circulate to prevent overheating and to allow the f/f to sit a bit further back than integrated ones.

We didn't have a special thing to open both doors at the one time, but didn't find it a hassle having to open two doors.

We'll be doing the same in our utility room in our new house, so if you manage to find a thing to open both doors at once I would be grateful if you'd post where you got it?

We had this issue with a washing machine, and it's not as simple as just opening two doors. Integrated appliances go in at the bottom, where the kickboard of the units is. That's why they're twice the price of a normal appliance. In the end, we got an stand alone machine and cut the kick board to fit. It's a real pain, buying integrated. Hope you get it sorted.

Hi,

Lots of integrated appliances are slimmer than the normal ones as they fit into standard size units (i.e 600 mm units for a w/m) You could buy the panel material to make a specal unit for the fridge but furniture doors may be a problem. Your Kitchen Company should be able to help you. Also check out the ventilation issue, you may need a vent grille in the plinth (kickboard) to help this

Ooh mrs Muddle has just reminded me that ourfridge freezer had to sit on the bottom shelf not on the floor because of the kickboard issue.

I think we might have strengthened the base a bit as well to ensure it didn't come crashing through. Well my DH did anyway!!
