bags/rucksacks for children

looking for a nice little bag for dd (9 months old) to keep her stuff in at nursery!! - i know a plastic bag would suffice as she wouldn't notice!!! but any excuse to get something cute and lovely!

BUT!!! do children's bags exist without Barbie, Tweenies, Bob The Builder, Monsters Inc. etc emblazoned and stamped all over them? All i want is a nice little bag/rucksack, colourful, without being too pink!! Am i asking too much!?

I dread when she gets older and our house becoming an advertising board for the latest craze of the moment, so i'm relishing our logo free house before this happens...

help much appreciated!

Perhaps you could find something suitable at a craft fair, craft shop or ethnic-type shop? Otherwise beg a friend who's going abroad to get you something so wild and unusual that no-one else will have anything like it (maybe the latest Hello Kitty from Japan etc!) My son has a junior British Airways frequent flyers or longhaul or somesuch duffel bag which my parents got on their flight from Oz. Definitely unusual!

Surf wear accessory ranges often include nice colourful but practical, bags. See what quicksilver, oneill etc have to offer. Warning: not that cheap!

The Great Little Trading Company do a rucksack in primary colours as part of their children's luggage range. It's about £10, I think.

We got a lovely one from John Lewis with a Kangaroo on it, it is blue and green though, but it has been very hardwearing.

On a similar subject - does anyone know where I can get quite stylish lunchboxes or bags for kids? I absolutely refuse to spend a fortune on a nasty hunk of plastic with Monsters Inc or whatever on it but have found no alternative whatsoever - please help!

candy - there were some quite nice lunchoxes for kids at GLTC... have a look there...

Thanks Bea - I saw those, thought they were lovely but horribly expensive. I tracked some nice reasonably priced ones down in John Lewis; at the same time as my party bag fest which I've mentioned on another thread! The bags I've found are insulated, bright pink and have two sections plus a front zip. The girls are really pleased with them.
