Hi
Has anyone got any recommendations what I can buy my daughter for xmas? She will be 5 months then so would like to get her something that will grow with her over the next few months. I know I'm a little early thinking of xmas but I'm trying to get organised for the first time in my life!
Are the baby leap pad things any good?
Thanks

Have you got one of those water pat mat things? They're lovely. Also the Galt play nest. Or an inflatable ball pool, babies love them, and my 4yo still loves his.

Get her one of those push along dogs to give her stability when she is learning to walk, she'll use that from about 9-11 months and hopefully longer.

Or some books with nice hard pages she can chew and won't be able to wreck too easily.

I love the leappads for kids from about three years. Ds loves to be able to hear a story independently from me at times. But I have not yet come across a baby that has gotten much out of one.

Hard books are a lovely idea.

My DD is currently 8 months, and her favourite things are her stacking cups, and this music table . She spents huge amounts of time playing with the latter, and pulls herself up to standing on it now.

Or you could go for something like this , which we plan to get DD for Christmas.

ds was 7 months last xmas, best present was push trolley with bricks in, he still plays with it for ages every day and is 18 months now. depends on what your dd likes though, she may prefer puzzles or vehicles or books or soft toys...

Hmmm - my DD has never 'played' with her leap pad which we bought her for her first xmas. I also know loads of other mums who have found the same tbh.

I'd agree get a toy that she can use now but grow into. You can get quite a few toys that start out as static but then turn into a crawling then walking toy. Something like that would be good.

I know a lot of people rate the vtech first steps walker thingy - here and my DD always like to play with them at toddlers and she's 17 mo.

Thanks for all your ideas. I def want to get her something that she will be able to use as she develops and learns to walk etc
Anymore suggestions??

I think boxes of wooden bricks are great. They last forever, can be played with by all ages and are safe to chew too!
Agree with hard books too. Lift the flap ones are fab.

we are getting ds a baby leap pad too. they are suitable from 6 months i think. he is also getting the amazing animals baby choo choo train, some soft stackable cubes, some suck on toys for his high chair, a sit on reindeer rocker from mamas and papas which is half price and the fisher price 1 2 3 tether ball. off my mum he is getting a baby swing and his godparents are buying him the mamas and papas 2 in 1 activity station thing. its like the leapfrog one but it also turns into a walker so better value. have also got him a few clothes. oh and my sister is getting him the little trekker 6 in 1 ride on toy from mothercare which can be used as a rocker from 6 months.
