Castle needed for very fussy ds1 - help me find it

Ds1 has got his heart set on a castle for Christmas. Essential requirements are a drawbridge, but more importantly, a portcullis. My requirements is that it's under £40...

Any help gratefully received!

Arrrghhhh! Was just going to check the prices because yes, the Lion Heart castle fits the bill perfectly (not my purse though...).

Am just looking on ebay myself - but they haven't got the Lionheart one (that I can see) and the Portcullis is essential - it's the only thing he witters on about. If he didn't want a portcullis we'd be laughing...

Will keep an eye on ebay though - thanks.

guess this will be too expensive, just over £40. as in the one advertised to the right of this page! or you could really push the boat out and fork out over £1k - scroll down !

tissy · 14/10/2006 17:35

this is nearer to the budget, has no portcullis, but does have a trapdoor!

Dottydot · 14/10/2006 17:37

I'm already dreading how many castle pieces and knights are going to be scattered around the house by Dec. 26...

dont think the great little trading one's got a portcullis either.

The problem is that Father Christmas is bringing it him, and as he knows what all little children want, he's bound to bring the right one (as ds1 keeps telling me).

This ELC one has a portcullis, but it is £54.99. You may be able to get hold of a 20% discount code though.

One here with portcullis for £48?

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 14/10/2006 17:48

Ooh - £65 down to £48 here .

Dottydot · 14/10/2006 17:51

ooh - thanks all - this is brilliant.

Not quite sure what this one is, but top one is just under £40

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 14/10/2006 17:55

One for under £30 ? Pretty basic, though.

taMummy · 14/10/2006 17:56

The Duplo one has a portcullis but it's £48 on Mailorderexpress. I wonder if it's cheaper anywhere else? It's very nice... There's also a Le Toy Van one on there with a portcullis for £29.99, but no drawbridge. Sorry the direct links don't work, it's done with frames....

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 14/10/2006 17:56

Also comes in red

Dottydot · 14/10/2006 17:58

yes, ds1 is sitting on my knee vetting them and most hve been rejected, but the Amazon one is ticking all the right boxes, so we're having grown up conversations about not having other presents if he gets something like that..!

oh no!!! we've just realised the Amazon one hasn't got a drawbridge! All is lost - back to the drawing board...
