I know you can get them on ebay, mothercare and glt.

But has anyone used/tried them? What are they like to sit on from an adult point of view? Really cheap plastic? Or worth every penny?

Need to ditch the potty as ds too tall really and uses the toilet at nursery/pre school but they are child sized and in other peoples houses he is helped.

not plastic at all. i have the wooden type one. its great.

Ooh, will watch with interest I'm thinking of getting one of these. Also, how long do they actually need a toddler seat? Don't want to buy one if she grows out of it within minutes.

where did you get yours from misdee and how much (link? - pretty please )

I bought a plastic foldable one on here as dd1 would not use the toilets outside the house unless they were toddler size and theres not many of them outside of school!

It was ideal - folded up in bag and able to use when needed. and saves carrying the potty around in the early days!

At home we had a plastic one which sits under the seat.

all in all think she used them for 5mths - has not used them for the last 2mths

We have a wooden one from GLTC - not cheap and nasty at all, it's very nice. Like an ordinary wooden seat, but the small seat clips up into the lid. Dd used it until she was about 4.5, when she found she was more comfortable on the bigger seat. Well worth the money, imo.

WigWamBam · 08/10/2006 19:31

Here's the one we had, oooggs.

I love it, very easy to wipe clean. Our old seat broke and so we got the 2 seater and ds loves it as it's his own seat . Sure we got it from Jo Jo Maman for about £30?

oooggs · 08/10/2006 19:33

cool wigwambam - thats the one I have been looking at. Anything to save my bathroom floor.
DS thinks it is helpful to empty his own potty, but more often than not he misses the toilet & .

Bless him

We have one and I think its good for girls but the boys find it hard to 'tuck' themselves in.

oooggs · 08/10/2006 19:36

I have enough problems with 'boy things' as it is - forgets to tuck it in and pants and trousers wet. He gets upset cos he did make it to the toilet on time

oogs - she's 3.6 now. removed nappies at 2.10 and was dry within 2weeks and then had to teach using the toilet when out and about so seat came in handy as I wasn't taking the potty with me!

I removed the toilet seat (foldable) in June and didn't look back.

The one at ours is stil used occasionally but only when she puts it on the toilet and she has a potty in her room overnight just in case she wakes up too late but never had any accidents.

Thankyou - ds is 3 in dec and with twins on the way I think it will be a good investment
