Unusual (but no modern / avant garde) classy one off furniture?

Any ideas...

Looking for tasteful, perhaps quirky (but cosy) armchairs ....

Obviously not Dfs, MFI, Furnitureland etc - nothing wrong with these but that's not the sort of thing I am looking for.

Anyone know of any websites where I can look at some examples.

I suppose I quite like the type of furniture you might get in Libertys / Harrods etc - but can't get down to London any time soon.

Have spent unproductive 45 minutes googling so far...

Whereabouts are you?
We got some lovely Liberty-type furniture from a shop called Settle in Tunbridge Wells. They do great sales.

Thanks for the link CD and for the wesley barrell website address ggirl; I've requested a brochure from them.

I guess what I mean by not modern, is not modern designer stuff which would look great in a warehouse flat in the Docklands (but completely out of character for a family house in the country)...but equally I wouldn't want something that would look at home in granny's parlour

New Heights do some lovely solid classic pieces.
Ageless too

Try The Cotswald Company as weel. They seem to have really got their act together recently.

There are always good ads in back of Living Etc for reconditioned 30s pieces (club armchairs and so on)Have sent for their catalogues and liked a lot.

I buy second hand armchairs and get them recovered.

We have Parker Knoll sofas. They are good quality, and they do a range of stuff, from very classic, to a bit more modern, but not avant-garde. We bought ours from a local independent high street shop, but I expect you could contact Parker Knoll to find local suppliers, get brochures etc.
