I only want some plainish boys pjs. Is that too much to ask?

Ds has only one pair of pjs that fit (excluding his shortie ones) so went to get some today. They are all revolting, emblazoned with logos or inapproprite pictures (Woolies, Next, M&S) or velour in pastel blue with a teddy on the front (Tchibo) or overpriced (Gap).
Thats the local shops exhausted.
Anyone know where I can get plainish or at least age appropriate ones (He needs age 4) to save me wasting another trip.

Thank you!

Yes, ediemay, but she asked for REASONABLY PRICED!!!

Posey · 07/10/2006 13:46

Nah, not even quattro.
As for Boden, why would I spend that amount on a pair of pjs when I can clothe a family of 4 for that amount.

Monsters Inc indeed. Pfuh.

SoMuchToBats · 07/10/2006 13:48

Do you get Next Directory? If so, there are several pairs of nice ones suitable for his age on pages 676 and677 of the Autumn/Winter directory. Also some Fireman Sam ones on page 678.

Heated Thread of the afternoon....

Who'd have thought it?

I blame the fish

FWIW I adore Monsters Inc (though not as much as Toy Story 2) but ds is terrified of it. Don't think he'd appreciate pjs unless I want to encourage really crap nights with mares.

I know someone who has just called their dd ediemay - wonder if you are her? hmmm

Posey · 07/10/2006 13:53

Its all fine everyone.
As ds's nursery teacher says "calm down" in a very soft and slow way.

I got 3 pairs of plain pjs in Asda yesterday for £6. Also got a pair in M&S (plain top, tartan botoms) for £8.

Have you looked at those Next ones I mentioned? Ithink the zootrain, spaceships and aliens, and transport ones are all quite nice for a 4 year old.

Posey · 07/10/2006 14:00

Sorry wasn't ignoring you, just got a bit sidetracked by the way the thread headed. Thank you for that, just the sort of stuff I'm after.
Think I'm off, its getting too hot in here.

That's OK. Hope you find some you like.

ediemay · 07/10/2006 14:02

no I'm not her

John Lewis has got some super-fantastic skeleton ones. Black jersey with luminous skeleton markings on - about £12. Got some for DS last year when he was 4 and we have definitely had our monies worth out of them - worn them to at least 3 fancy dress parties as well as regularly to bed. Luminous markings have withstood repeated washing and tumbling really well.

Good value if you factor in all the fancy dress crap we haven't had to buy.

I just threw it in because I thought people interested in boys pjs might be interested.

Anyway, they are not chavvy-logo things - they are super cool retro things (there was a picture of someone wearing these in the Richard Scarry book I had when I was a child and I so-o-o-o wanted a pair).

You can usually get plain (ish) ones in Mothercare.
