Anyone have any experience of this company? Saw their ad in Saturday Guardian.

Very attracted to idea of using existing carcasses then adding some cupboards and getting fairly swanky worktop, sink, taps.

They tart up all original carcasses and replace kick boards etc. Doors I like are flat spray painted solid wood. Lovely bloke came round spent two hours, quoted about ?8000 fully fitted including vat (excluding appliances)

Nanette Newman and Bryan Forbes give a glowing testimonial on their website....they model themselves on Smallbones.

Can't BEAR the idea of ripping out and starting again. Will need some plastering, re-flooring etc as is but is this Good Idea?

Yes, we had this firm to do up our kitchen. Very pleased with the results. One man took two days to fit new doors and work surfaces. He was a nice bloke and there was minimum mess involved. They are quite expensive I suppose. You can probably get a cheapish new kitchen for what you pay them, but you are getting good quality. We wanted to keep our original cabinets as they are sound and not ticky tacky. We had flat painted wood too. The only thing with it is, you have to be careful with splashes that might stain, tea, fruit juice etc. as it can be hard to get rid of this. We had one small mystery mark which I couldn't get off, but it has disappeared with time. We had a brochure mentioning free fitting. The salesman did not include this at first. Luckily dd piped up, "what about free fitting", and he then knocked it off thus saving £l.500!

Do a LOT of haggling would be my advise. Or if you have any contacts with a local carpenter you might find a bespoke version MUCH cheaper
