DD1 has just discovered and loves Pippi Longstocking. She is 7, and a very good reader. I think Malory towers may be "older"

DD is 7 and is enjoying Malory Towers, I have no experience of 11 year olds

Maybe I'll try her on Malory Towers, too then.

My 10 year old has just discovered St Clares & Malory Towers & loves them - I've just bought her the boxed set from book people! I think they were actually written for slightly older children as the girls in them are at the euqivalent of senior school & the stories take them right up to sixth form but I guess they were written in a more innocent age - certainly no mention of boys/alcohol etc within those pages!
