We have a cheapy 3kg WhiteKnight one which was £100. It has been hammered over the past 3 years and is still going strong it's like this one but now we have a family of 5 (almost! not long to go!) I really want one of these babies! that will dry 10kg instead of the 3kg!

LadyTophamHatt · 29/09/2006 08:35

Mumatuks, is the 3kg weight alot of washing? I think I'd need a bigger one(we'll be a family of 6 soon). LOVE the big ebay one. DH nearly had aheart attack when i showed him "What....thats 300 quid....I'm not paying that"

He has no idea

we've got a washer dryer ATM and it's just crap!

New baby due in jan so really really need a separate one ASAP.

I brought a whiteknight about 1 yr ago & it is fab i got it from arogs hold on will find link... think it was about 119.00

Joolstoo · 29/09/2006 08:37

I've got a Hotpoint condenser but think the traditional ones dry better (the condenser ones leave clothes softer though).

My traditional dryer was a Bosch - very good.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/09/2006 08:38

ive got a cheapey white knight too - condenser one though - cost about £120 about 18 months ago - never had any problems - think its this one... here

brimfull · 29/09/2006 08:39

When my relatively new bosch broke down the repair man said he would recommend a white knight dryer as they are sturdy and well made.I'd never heard of them myself, wish I'd bought one.

Scoobydooooo · 29/09/2006 08:39

it is here

It has been great it's actually £118.00

mumatuks · 29/09/2006 08:40

Hi LTH.. I know what you mean about the DH £200 pound thing, I had much the same reaction from my DH!
3kg isn't alot, and I usually find myself doing 3 loads of tumble drying from one load of washing IYSWIM... If you're about to become a family of six (you brave woman!) I wouldn't bother with 3kg load.
I've told my DH that although its alot of money, surely its got to be more ecomonical in the long run? (Doesn't mean he'll buy it though! )

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/09/2006 08:41

tell a lie - its this one and a bit dearer...

here

saltire · 29/09/2006 08:44

I have a white knight, its on a lot and i usually manage to do a load of washing in the dryer. Its the £118 someone mentioned. My friend's white knight tumble dryer has just developed a fault - for the first time in 18 years, she got it as a wedding present. So they must be pretty sturdy.
Still on teh subject of W K, my IL's bought us a white Knight washing machine when we got married. We left it in our house, which we rent out, and it's still going strong after 13 years.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/09/2006 08:49

i agree - the white knight's seem to be lasting well. my dad has got one too and i think it must be 6 years old by now and never had a problem with it

mumatuks · 29/09/2006 08:50

OH JARM its a 6kg one!! We really need a bigger dryer like that...

LTH.. Have you tried pricerunner to get the best price? I was shocked to see some places were up to £200 more expensive!

heavenis · 29/09/2006 08:53

I've got a white knight one and it does 6kg loads. I've had it about4-5 yrs and it hasn't let me down.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/09/2006 08:59

its needed in this house lol

i can get 2 loads from the washing machine in it - tis FABBO!

TheBlonde · 29/09/2006 09:06

LadyTophamHatt · 29/09/2006 20:20

there will be a which report on larger capcity tumble dryers in around november if thats any use - I presume they mean above 6/7kg which I think is what the current review goes up to.

Highlander · 30/09/2006 15:55

I've got a Bosch Exxcel, 7kg. Econofreeze in Morpeth

Highlander · 30/09/2006 15:55

woops, 200GBP

TwoToTango · 01/10/2006 09:14

Is a 3Kg dryer big enough for 3 people? Can you get bulky things like bath towels in it, or is it best to go for a 6kg one?

alittlebitshy · 01/10/2006 09:47

i have a hotpoint aquarius 6kg one. I love it. I nearly went for a white knight one but at the time noone had recommended it (why didn't i ask on MN?) so i was a bit wary...

this i think

highschoolmusicalCOD · 01/10/2006 09:47
