I am in a major dilema over whether I need to buy a double pram for my bump (edc 27th feb) and my DD who will be 2 in March or if I can get away with a buggy board for her. I have a MB terrain at present and love it so would prob just go for the double MB. However DH says just go for a buggy board on the back of the single MB. My worry is that a buggy board isn't very practicle for a 2 year old, she very rarely sits still and I am sure she would just hop off it at any time. Has anyone used a buggy board with a small/hyper toddler? What do you think? Pregnancy brain, can't make my mind up about anything! thanks

Snugglebum, for my first two the gap was 1 year so I needed a double. The following three were about 2 years apart and I don't think I used my double much then. I think when the babies were small I put them in a sling and then by the time they were getting heavy the next child up was more sensible IYSWIM and they could use the buugy board better, or just walk. I think it really depends on your needs, how much walking you do and where you walk. It would be better to save the money if you can. I'm expecting another in March when the baby will still only be 15 months so I am going to have a get a new double
(Ihate my old one!)

I tried the buggy board thing as ds1 was already 2.7 when ds2 was born, but got fed up with it really quickly. I don't think 2 year olds are big enough to stand up all the time when you're out unless it's really just for a short time and never at a nap time for them. Carting a baby around in a sling all the time as well as pushing is quite tiring, and often you need/want to be able to put the baby down. If you're out all day you really need to be able to put them both in the pushchair. You use a pushchair so much that it's worth getting what will really make your life easier. Don't ask dh for advice unless he's the one doing most of the childcare.

I ended up buying a P&T E3 double and it has made my life very much more comfortable (especially now ds3 is here!).

I have seen a thing for sale called a buggy pod, that's a seat that attaches to your single - could be an alternative.

thanks for the replies
kitty I did think about a sling, just thought that the weather might be bad it being feb/march and the uk and that the little ones don't get that much protection from the weather in a sling, but it's stil a possibility, could save some money and wait and see if I really needed a double.
spag I know what you mean about not asking DH, he just poked his nose in as usual! how did you find the E3, I have had a quick look at one but most prams look a bit flimsy as I am used to my MB, also looked at the Jane twin tandem thingy as liked the fact that the rear seat was elevated so the rear babe could see out well, but again thought the build was a bit flimsy and woman in shop said they had loads of them back for repair.

Actually snugglebum, my last was born last Dec and it was cold, as Decembers are!. I was happier having her wrapped up in a sling and pressed up,against my body and being kept warm by my movements than lying still in a pram.

get a seat to go - stand up or sit down type of buggy board. sell them on line and in tescos. much better for a tried child.

Seat to go, fab idea, never seen them before, thanks!
