hi can anyone give me any advice about slings, i have a 2 week old baby and a dog and when walking the dog and the baby on my own i could really do with a sling, i have tried a couple of basic mothercare ones but they are all very uncomfortable, can anyone recommend a solution, the hug a bug comes up second best in the find the best section?? but looks like the huggababy might last longer? dont mind about cost so much concerned about comfort ane ease of use, thanks

I like the huggababy very much and was able to carry my ds in it on a day to day basis until he was 2 years old and weighed over 2 stone. I can still manage the occasional short trip if necessary now he is 3.5.

It was easy to get the hang of, although took a few weeks for me to feel totally confident, but then it was marvellous (bit like breastfeeding really ) You can feed discreetly and it's lovely for the baby to sleep in.

It is comfortable because the shoulder is padded and when your baby gets older and can sit up the weight is distributed across your pelvis as well.

Ive got a huggababy and I carry both my 10 month old and my 2.6 yr old in it with ease, its very vesatile folds really small and is very comfortable and padded. you can also breastfeed whilst baby is in it. and it washes well on a 40 degree wash

hope that helps, happy sling hunting x

i found the hugabub a bit tricky, especially with an impatient baby who didn't want to wait for me to tie it on!!
It's really useful now that she is bigger - from about 6 months she began to get too heavy for me in my Baby Bjorn, but is really comfy in the Hugabub. So I am getting my money's worth now! The only thing is that because it is stretchy, she drops down after a little while, putting strain on my neck/shoulders again.
I'm going to try out my friend's non-stretchy, traditional woven wrap, like this one ellaroo (tied in the same way though...)
and for the next baby I will consider getting a sling for the first few months.

Sorry for just adding to the confusion!
