HELP NEEDED FROM OLDER PLIKO OWNERS (OLDER STYLE, NOT OLDER PEOPLE!)

Right, i've got a friends Pliko. I have to decide whether to buy it off her or sell it for her. Its an older one than the snazzy new p3 etc. No instructions, and I've never owned a m&p before, so...

How does it fold? I've found the pull thing at the back, but what else?

Do the things that the carseat fit onto in the buggy seat go flat? Else they'll be sticking in his sides!

Its a bit wobbly framework wise. I'll prob figure this out and tighten it up, but are they generally like this?

And... shall i buy it to keep, or sell it ? I have a p&t double for most of the time, but am thinking of when ds1 goes to and from nursery; he could just stand on that thing at the back?

Oh, and... how much is it worth?

Oh, you're fab Thanks! Few seconds of strop there when i hadn't tipped back and was standing on the bit at the back for totally self defeating leaverage
Folds up quite small, doesn't it?

Any answers for the other questions too?

The bits that the car seat latches onto fold down flat and tuck underneath the pushchair cover.

Mine is a bit wobbly as well, I put it down to being 5.5 years old, but it will only need to last a few more months. Then I will either bin it or see if our cm wants it.

How old is yours?
I would say mine has no value in it but it has (almost) lasted two children and been used lots, and flown to france a couple of times as well.

aaronsverytiredmummy · 26/09/2006 20:07

Framework will be wobbly, they all are also the car seat thingy's fold flat,if i remember rightly move them sideways and down I think. If not I am sure someone else will come along and give you better description.

mustrunmore · 26/09/2006 20:25

Ah ha! sussed the car seat bits. The red buttons on the sides were a clue

New question... can I was the covers in the machine, or just wipe down? Have got the coseytoes in there now.

This is exciting; having a new brand of buggy in the house is like exploring new territory

In the washing machine but on a gentle cycle. Put them back on wet in case of shrinkage.

mustrunmore · 26/09/2006 20:36

Thanks. I love it on here! nowhere else could you get good info so quickly!

Could ds1 stand on that back bit for say 10 mins every few days without totally buggering up the framework?

My ds does stand on the bits at the back and loves it (he's 2;2) but i don't think he's meant to! Should really get a buggy board...although the normal buggy boards don't fit M&P buggies apparently?

mustrunmore · 26/09/2006 20:39

Hm, I know you're not meant to, but I cant stand the idea of a buggy board! Think it would just be a hassle; bad angle to walk at, a pest to get up on buses etc. Those bits on the p3 look more substantial than this one; ds1 has been on one of those. I dont want to snap this one trying it out, else I will be obliged to buy it, whether I decide to or not!!

Used mine as a Buggy Board, depends on how heavy your lo is. The peg perego counterpart ones have it advertised as a stand on board for toddlers so maybe it is just a safety standard thing and our standards are different.

mustrunmore · 27/09/2006 09:28

No idea on his weight . This one does have the 'not more than one child' disclaimer label though.

Hello, sorry to hijack. Have old peg perego pliko, apparently they ARE designed to carry two children, someone in US had accident with child on back flipping up whole buggy and sued company, being American and good at sueing people, so they put disclaimer on in UK and US. We saw stacks of peeps in Italy with kids on the back of their Plikos!

mustrunmore · 27/09/2006 15:11

Oh! I wonder which one i've got then. It does say peg Perego on the carseat base I think. Anyway, we road tested it going to the gp today, and it was fine. Its growing on me!
